The Beach

There they are on the private beach, there next to the enormous shrub, with their beach umbrella. Their mum looking after her baby girl that's been born one year ago, wiping the vanilla ice cream that was on her face. The little girl cheerfully playing with her trinkets that she bought from home. The dad coming back from the jet ski ride he bought.

For the last few days we have been doing descriptive writing this is my story above.

Descriptive Writing

Even in the shadowy gloom of the starless night she could see fear blazing in his eyes like fire. It was no longer a cozy, tunnel-of-love sweetness, but a chilling isolation.

This is a descriptive piece I did when we did writing, we had to go to the library and find a book and flick through the book to find descriptive sentences and write it in our book and then turn it in to a paragraph using our own words this is my story above.

Speech

Computers are a useful tool but you need to be careful with it.

Do you use a computer? Do you use it a lot? When a teacher asks you something do you Google it? The Internet is a very useful tool, but you need to take care because not everything on there is true and accurate.

Firstly let's assume your using the Internet, for those of you that don't switch off yet because what I'm telling you is still important.

The first links on a search are almost always sponsored which means they have paid Google a search engine to have their site come up first. A search engine is a site that allows you to search the World Wide Web for sites that might be able to help you. It does this by using key words which it scans very quickly across the whole internet Not every site it finds will be able to help you. For example when I typed in persuasive speeches I got 613,000 hits in a quarter of a second. Evening the first 10, I only looked at thereabout of those three, two of them wanted me to pay money for speeches.

Do you go to the first website you see and assume that it's correct? How do you know if something is true? When you look at a link on a search using Google you will see underneath the link, written in black, a brief summary of what is on the site or a short piece taken from the site. This can help you work out weather it's worth looking at. Also underneath that, in green is the URL (Uniform Resource Locator), which can also help you, decide whether it is worth looking at.

When I was going to look up what URL means I was going to put down “What does URL mean” but my dad said you only need to put down "URL meaning" as the search engine only searches for key words Which it scans very quickly across the whole internet not every site it finds will be able to help you.

Never assume that the first website is definitely true, you always need to check other websites. If you find three sites saying the same thing it's probably true. If you find something on a well known site you can assume it is true, for example National Geographic is bound to be correct, whereas arthurtheaardvark.com might not be.

I think that the Internet is a wonderful tool to research information, and now I know that I need to use the Internet wisely other wise I could end up looking like a fool. So the next time you use the Internet think about were you're looking and what your doing or the fool could be you.

Alice and Gemma are best friends. They play with each other every day, but one day Gemma finds out that Alice has a secret .The next day Gemma looks in Alices diary and sees that Alice is going to move to Scotland.
Weeks later they have a farewell party for Alice.Alice and Gemma made a plan to ran away from home that night .They drees up in disguise and take some money from Gemma's piggy bank, enough to get some food. They go down to the dairy and then get on the bus, but when they get off they see their friend Billy .He recognises Gemma Alice and tells his mum,who tells their mums that Alice and Gemma are running away from home.Their mums come to pick them up.Gemma gets the blame for them both running away.

My Book Bag

This is my Book Bag and the book I did it on is a book called Best Friends by Jacqueline Wilson Illustrated by Nick Sharratt. For the Book Bag we had to put on a plot, favourite character, least favourite character,a reason for choosing this book, who will enjoy this book and a rating. My favourite character was Gemma because she is very kind and she stands up for herself. My least favourite character was Flora because she is very mean and very bossy. The type of reader who enjoy this book would be a person who had their friend move away and not know how to deal with it.My rating was 5/5.

My Goals

This is my goals for this year and I want to work hard on getting them done, so I can work on different ones.

Me Project

This is my Me Project and what we had to do was put your favourite food, place, colours, pet and hobbies on it. Also we had to chose a background and I choses swimming goggles.
